West Harrison County Regional Water Supply (CBDG Project HARCUA W13)

about this project

As a result of damages caused by Hurricane Katrina and the outcome of the Mississippi Gulf Region Water and Wastewater Master Plan, Community Development Block Grant (CDGB) funds were allocated for the Harrison County Utility Authority to construct the West Harrison County Regional Water Supply System (CDGB Project W13).

Brown, Mitchell & Alexander, Inc. (BMA) was retained to provide design for this

project which included three (3) 1,000 gpm wells, three (3) 500,000 elevated water

tanks, approximately 21 miles of 12” and 16” water mains, and connections to

existing water systems owned and operated by the City of Pass Christian, City of

Long Beach and the Long Beach Industrial Park. The W13 Project was designed

to interconnect to Projects W12 and W15, which provide service and interconnections

to other municipal water systems in Harrison County.

Other services provided by BMA included surveying, bidding assistance, construction

administration, resident project representation and assistance with easement
