Biloxi, MS
Ohr-O'Keefe Museum of Art
about this project
In conjunction with Eley Guild Hardy Architects, Brown, Mitchell & Alexander, Inc. (BMA) provided boundary and topographic surveying and civil engineering (utilities-grading, drainage & sitework) for the reconstruction of Ohr-O’Keefe Museum of Art facility in Biloxi, Mississippi, which was destroyed in Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
The unique stainless steel-clad structures house the work of legendary potter and Mississippi Coast native, George E. Ohr, as well as a large collection of regionally and nationally important artists in the museum of African-American art and the Exhibition Gallery. The museum was featured in Southern Livingas the “Best New Arts Venue” and a symbol of renewal during the rebuild of Biloxi.
