Brown, Mitchell & Alexander, Inc. (BMA), formerly Brown & Mitchell, Inc., was selected by the Harrison County Board of Supervisors to provide civil engineering services for improvements along Flat Branch Tributary to reduce flooding from Community Road to O’Neal Road in Gulfport, Mississippi.
Improvements in this 13-square mile drainage basin consisted of replacing 13,000 linear feet of existing earthen channel that had an existing bankfull stage capacity of approximately a four-year flood with 7,600 linear feet of riprap / earthen channel and 6,500 linear feet of concrete paved channel to transport a one-hundred-year flood at bankfull stage.
