Following the destruction caused by Hurricane Katrina, the City of Gulfport retained Brown, Mitchell & Alexander, Inc. (BMA) to provide professional services for an extensive water and sewer repair project in Area 3A, 3C & 3D.
Infrastructure repair was essential to assist in the rebuilding efforts in this prime commercial and residential area running north along Highway 90 and around the Harbor. The City needed assistance with all phases of the project from design to permitting, project management and construction administration. BMA was able to efficiently handle all their needs, effectively navigate the permitting process, and manage coordination with FEMA, CSX Railway, state, and other local agencies.
The $23.6 million project consisted of removing and replacing all existing domestic water mains, domestic water services, sanitary sewer mains, and sanitary sewer services including a new pump station and rehabilitation of an existing pump station.
