was part of a $35 million (FEMA funded) repair and improvement project that included the renovation of the Bert Jones Yacht Basin, making it one of the largest post-Katrina public improvement projects. The park has become a recreational focal point of the City, hosting a number of special events and festivals each year, and one of the most popular parks in South Mississippi.
BMA was retained by the
City of Gulfport
to provide Professional Engineering Services for the Jones Park Improvements Project. The Project was constructed in several phases utilizing CDBG & CIAP Funding, with the final phase being complete in 2012. The overall improvements consisted of the construction of a splash pad which included playground equipment, interactive water feature, irrigation, landscaping, lighting, pavilion, road construction, earthwork, drainage, granular base, asphalt paving, erosion control, striping, signage and street lighting.
